…even when it looks like you’ve won.

Well i just saw the most exciting thing (not to happen on land) in the history of all mankind. That may sound like hyperbole if so, perhaps you were out getting “crunk” or “stupid” or “tore up” last Friday night and missed Michael Phelps in the 100M butterfly final.  We’ve all seen photo finishes and close races before.  But I’ve never seen one this close, in such monumental historical context, and on such a gigantic stage.

Have the CIA investigate it and then make Oliver Stone shot a six hour movie about it.  But by whatever hare’s breath, Phelps, a half stoke behind with just centimeters* to go, found a way to win his seventh gold medal.  I feel like my eyes lying to me but that the truth is so much sweeter than the image on my optic nerves.
